Note:

SAMS 1.1.1 The program is a multi-institutional consortium between TAMUC and two community colleges. The consortium leverages existing structures and partnerships as a foundation for activities intended to recruit, support, and strengthen computing pathways. 1. Mixed Methods Identity Research: Explore the computing identity development of students in CSAC. The research is positioned to advance knowledge regarding computing identity development and inform education practice and policies for CSAC. 2. Qualitative Component: Utilize a phenomenological approach to examine the lived experiences and computing identity development of CSAC participants. 3. Quantitative Component: Utilize path analysis with a critical-quantitative approach to understand the computing experiences of CSAC participants at the point of entry to the program as well as their trajectories through the program by addressing the following questions: 1. What are the characteristics and backgrounds of CSAC students? 2. What are the computing identity experiences of CSAC students in the program? 3. Among students who are a part of CSAC, what is the pathway to persistence in CSIS? 4. Triangulation of Qualitative and Quantitative Data: Qualitative and quantitative data will be gathered, analyzed separately, then the results will be compared, with a golto validate both the quantitative and qualitative findings
