Note:
Work Scope I: MOF-scale up and breakthrough temperature swing-adsorption. Scale-up of MOFs to 5 kg: The scale-up of the SIFSIXMOFs to ~5 kg each is proposed to be achieved in a continuous plug flow reactor whereby the precursor metal salt and ligand solutions are held separately and pumped into stainless-steel tubular flow reactors (10 mL to 1.5 L) through a T-type or Y-type connector. After the scale-up of the MOFs, a small portion of them will be first systematically assessed in terms of their phase purity, CO2 uptake capacity, thermal stability, moisture stability, regenerability before processing them into thin film on the aluminum substrate as in Work scope-II. Work Scope II: Processing of MOF thin film on Al-substrate. The thin films of the desired SIFSIXMOFs would be obtained by spin-coating the respective colloidal nanoparticle suspensions on pre-cleaned aluminum substrates.
