Note:

We propose Chandra snapshot observations of 54 luminous sources drawn from the Gemini Near Infrared Spectrograph - Distant Quasar Survey (GNIRS-DQS; [22]). GNIRS-DQS is the largest uniform sample (226 sources) of Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) quasars at 1:55 6, where quasarBELR lines are weaker than normal (e.g., [2]; Fig. 1b) thus hampering MBH and L=LEdd estimatesusing the SE method. C IV Blueshift: BELR lines exhibit velocity shifts, mostly blueshifts, with respect to the systemic redshift that increase with ionization potential (e.g., [15]; [16]; [36]). Strong correlationsbetween C iv blueshift and both EW(C iv) and ox (e.g., [19]; Fig. 2b) have been interpretedwithin the context of an accretion-disk wind that manifests itself as a larger C iv blueshift for aweakly ionizing (soft) SED, exhibiting a more negative ox value, while quenching the C iv emission (i.e., lowering the EW; e.g., [25]; [38]).
