Note:
PLAN OF WORK: 1. Functionally test genes encoding 9-LOX enzymes using virus-induced gene silencing to test if reduced 9-hydroxy fatty acids levels deter aphids and reduce Fusarium infestations. 2. Introduce stable alterations to GhLOX genes using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing approaches. 3. Test new methods to facilitate meristem and germline gene editing that incorporate virus-based gene delivery and genes controlling meristem development and maintenance.
