SAMs 1.1.1--The purpose of the research is to investigate the security vulnerabilities in two different critical infrastructure namely the Smart Grid Energy Infrastructure and Healthcare Infrastructure, design different schemes to evaluate the resilience of these two infrastructures, design mitigation schemes, collaborate with respective industry players, develop new courses in cybersecurity for training of students, publish new results in international conference proceedings and journals. Our research work is linked to the Department of Homeland security (DHS) mission of protecting critical infrastructure against cyberattacks. This follow-up proposal is to extend our DHS supported summer research activities to the next level in evaluation and analysis of vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure. We are requesting $50K in funding for one year to extend and support our research, training of students, which will help produce next generation of workforce capable of handling security challenges faced by nations critical infrastructures.
