Note:
SAMs 1.1.1--The Latina ADVANCE E4 Partnership is designed to facilitate broader adaptation of evidence-based gender equity and systemic change strategies, resulting in a transformation of HSI academic workplaces beyond STEM academic departments to the whole institution. Information on best practices to create and sustain inclusive and supportive climates for Latina STEM faculty will be disseminated to a broad range of stakeholders. By sharing this knowledge beyond the community of practice and department chair intervention/cohorts, we aim to build STEM department capacity and agility across academic institutions and industry. Additionally, innovation and excellence in STEM is achieved with the unique perspectives and lived experiences of a diverse workforce, including STEM Latina faculty. Having a diverse STEM faculty, inclusive of Latinas, will have the additive effects of improving student outcomes and strengthening the pipeline; a diverse professoriate contributes to NSF’s goal, and the nation’s need of cultivating a world-class, inclusive STEM workforce.
