Note:

SAMs 1.1.1--The purpose of this research agreement is to reduce populations of the aggressive invasive weed, Brazilian peppertree by the development of a newly approved biological control agent. This environmentally safe, cost-effective, and sustainable means of weed control will be accomplished with the mass production, distribution, and evaluation of the approved biological control agents. Research methods will be developed to mass produce, release, detect, evaluate the safety and impact of a psyllid on the target weed. Research activities will include the mass production protocols of agents. Deliverables will include the results of laboratory and field studies presented through customer and professional presentations, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and semi- and annual reports. These research efforts will assist land managers tasked with controlling the invasive weed Brazilian peppertree using sustainable and cost-effective methods.
