The awarded funds will be used to develop an atypical methodological approach to studying mathematics classroom discourse —one that uses the tools of statistical discourse analysis and social network analysis by addressing ways to analyze mathematics classroom discourse at a larger scale which allows the field to pose and answer questions not typically asked about teaching and learning using discourse analytic methods.
