This is a non-endowed gift designated to provide research enhancing funds for use by The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment to further support to the Texas Stream Team Research. The Texas Stream Team at The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment is a network of trained volunteers and partners who are dedicated to understanding and protecting the 191,000 miles of Texas waterways and who are responsible for gathering data and information about natural resources in Texas to increase environmental stewardship and scientific research. Texas Stream Team plans to use the interest from the endowment to pay for research equipment for citizen scientists to participate in water quality monitoring across the state of Texas. The funds will also go towards the purchase of research supplies needed to conduct the necessary trainings in order for the citizen scientists to become certified Texas Stream Team Water Quality Monitors.
