Note:
1.1.1 The present proposal will examine the survival and persistence of FBP in soils amended by MBBSA and contamination of produce grown in such soils using current practices that are typical of small-scale growers of fresh produce in Texas. We will also assess knowledge of these small-scale growers and develop and deliver targeted extension and training on best practices aimed at reducing contamination of fresh produce with foodborne pathogens. The proposed research is relevant to the program priority area of food safety.
