Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Impacts of the Quota System on Afro-Brazilians Education and Brazil National Interest
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
Purdue University
CFDA: 98
Program Title: none
Note:
1.1.1 Specifically, we plan to: a) evaluate existing research on the Quota System Program to determine whether the “Quota Law” has contributed to the social and economic advancement of Afro-Brazilians/Indigenous people, both at the individual level and as a group. This will also help determine their current contribution to society. To strengthen our case of advocating for a continuation of the “Quota Law,” we will also analyze the make-up of Brazilian companies’ top executives and design a manual on how to increase diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Toward these goals, we intend to partner with key stakeholders in Brazil and draft a policy brief aiming at convincing the private sector, civil societies, and local/central governments to voice their support of the “Quota Law” as it advances Brazil's national interests.
