Note:

1.1.1. Within the cell, the active metabolites will be cleaved via enzymes present within the bacterial cell, releasing drug from thiamin. Drug will perform its desired function while thiamin will keep the thiamin biosynthetic machinery shut by binding to riboswitch (Fig. 1). This proposal advances the use of the essential micronutrient, thiamin, as a transporter for drug delivery of active metabolites to the specific target site.
