Program Title: A National Intersectional Investigation of Employment Disparities and Barriers, and Covid-19 Translational Policy and Programmatic Equity Solutions for Multiply Marginalized People with Disabilities
Note:
We deem this project restricted research (SAMs 1.1.1). The investigator will identify inequities in employment and income as a wealth-building measure, barriers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and promising strategies for traversing these challenges as perceived and experienced by key stakeholders (i.e., multiply marginalized PWD and family members, policymakers and public and private employment service leaders and providers, employers, disability advocates and experts). A sequential exploratory design, a two phase approach, will be used to analyze at least 12 cycles of U.S. Census Bureau Household Pulse Survey (HPS) (COVID-19) and four waves of the National Survey on Health and Disability (NSHD) data first, followed by an analysis of primary qualitative and quantitative data collected from a Delphi panel. The purpose of this design is to analyze the Pulse Survey and NSHD data (Phase 1) to identify employment and income inequalities that will inform the Delphi process (Phase 2) that will translate promising employment policy and practice solutions. The Delphi survey will also be informed by a scoping review of the literature.
