Note:
PENDING. We deem this project restricted research (SAMs 1.1.1) because it is PI directed, hypothesis driven, and will result in a publication. The investigator will analysis and report development on the indutry and academic trends that affect candidates graduating from small accounting programs. Candiadate willhave a better understanding of the timing, section sequecing and other factors increase the likelihood of success. Educators and institutions will improve student performance, the better their programs are perceived. This may be especially true for smaller programs whose unique position (e.g., fewer resources, lower socioeconomic status students, institutional missions focused on lower performing students, etc.) has been largely unexamined in the literature. Employers benefit from a greater understanding of how seasonal exam patterns and other factors relating to exam performance affect the CPA pipeline. With fewer qualified candidates available to fill open CPA positions, employers can no longer depend solely upon universities to produce sufficient candidates to fill the need.
