Note:
1.3.1. This project aims to develop a course to provide experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate students on the different steps in the production and commercialization of fresh produce in the global/international market. Students will receive training at the citrus center in Weslaco, will visit fresh produce distribution centers in south Texas, will visit fresh produce plantations in southern Mexico aimed for the export market, and receive training from industry leaders, USDA, APHIS, FDA on the regulatory issues related to import and export markets. Two MS student will be recruited under this grant to perform research.
