1.1.1: The objectives of the proposed research are to develop highly selective and regenerable sorbents, evaluate and optimize the efficacy of thermal destruction of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) for remote, off-site impacted water resources treatment. The project will address the following challenges facing current PFAS studies: 1) feasibility of thermal destruction of PFAS and environmental safety concerns; 2) sorbents for efficient removal of a diverse suite of PFAS; 3) deteriorated performances and regenerations of sorbents.
