1.1.1: The objective of this research project is to synthesize tailored metal particles engineered to release energy at time-scales relevant to a detonation event, leading to harnessing ~100% of the metal energy. The produced metals will be incorporated in HE formulations to demonstrate the increased potential for energy contributions at the detonation (µs) and enhanced blast (ms) time scales.
