Program Title:
n/a
CFDA Linked: Basic Scientific Research
Note:
1.1.1: The objective of this research project is to synthesize novel metal fuel particles through purposefully designed surface reactions that transform the particle shell-core architecture to enable faster energy release rates. The focus is on aluminum particles and the hypothesis is that transforming the native alumina shell into a hydrated phased will promote controllable surface reactions that can be used to alter the shell chemistry and particle reactivity.
