1.1.1: The overall goal of the research project is to develop and demonstrate a framework for application of leaching and related testing procedures and assessment protocols based on existing LEAF methods that includes a screening assessment for a narrow set of conditions based on site background and intended disposition of the material being tested. This will be accomplished by laboratory characterization of 10 PFAS-contaminated field samples and use of the resulting data in prototypical leaching assessments to estimate (i) PFAS leaching if the rubble stockpile or pavement remains in-place, and (ii) the leaching if the stockpiled pavement rubble was used in unbound applications.
