Note:
1.1.1: This project is the product of the joint collaboration to develop baseline projections for US and global agriculture, analyze the impacts of those projections and policy changes on farm level income and performance, and to develop policy analysis on an as-needed basis. Results of these analyses are presented to the U.S. Congress, USDA, and other industry and interested parties. Work on this project will be divided into two primary objectives: (1) baseline refinement and estimation and (2) analysis of subsidy and policy impacts implemented by foreign countries. The first component represents our traditional analysis of the international cotton baseline. In addition to the baseline modeling, ICAC maintains a database of foreign agricultural subsidies to assist policy-makers, industry, and researchers with understanding the extent and types of subsidies used in major agricultural producing countries around the globe.
