Note:

Texas Woman’s University will partner with the Uplift Education charter school system to train and expand the number of school-based mental health service providers in schools. The initiative, titled Uplifting School-Based Mental Health, and its collaborative efforts would support the preparation of both Clinical Mental Health and Professional School Counseling students at TWU to provide mental health services to students in high-needs areas and schools. The overall aim is to prepare students to address the shortage of school-based mental health services in high-need schools by training counseling students to provide culturally responsive school-based mental health services effectively and supportively to underserved students. On-going programmatic evaluation will be a key component of USBMH, and multiple data measures will be used to determine the effectiveness of the counselor intern interventions and to measure change over time.
