Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: A culturally relevant communication and support plan to ensure access to and use of Covid-19 Testing for Francophone African Born Immigrants

Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity: HHS - National Institutes of Health

CFDA: 93.31

Program Title: RADx-UP CDCC Rapid Research Pilot Program

Note:

Francophone African Black Immigrants (FABI) are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. FABI experience increased testing challenges because English is their second language. Guided by the Ecological Validity Model, 1) key informant interviews will be used to linguistically and culturally adapt a COVID-19 home-based test instruction manual, 2) test the effect of the adapted test on return rates of home-based self-testing in a pilot randomized control trial among FABI, and 3) evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of the adapted home-based test to create a community-driven protocol that can be utilized within the RADx-UP Consortium to increase home testing in the FABI community.
