Note:

In this study, we propose the development and implementation of a novel data assimilation framework for studying ACI without overriding the effects of aerosols/clouds. Applying this framework, we will determine accurate initial and boundary conditions for a target convective cell within the domain of a study using the ARM TRACER campaign dataset for the assimilation and fine-resolution of the Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with the chemistry and spectral bin model to address the following scientific objectives: (i) to identify the role of various aerosol particles as Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) and their relationship with the microphysics and thermodynamics of clouds; (ii) to quantify the enhancement of convective strength by various aerosol particles; (iii) to identify clouds that affect the formation of secondary aerosols and the distribution of variable CCN; and (iv) to assess the impact of aerosol particles on the radiative forcing of clouds.
