Note:
In this retrospective cohort study, we will use claims and clinical data from Humana, Inc. to develop an actionable, explainable CDSS that integrates social risk factors to predict diabetes progression. The national dataset from Humana, Inc. consists of nearly 800,000 individuals, aged 18 to 85, with Type 2 diabetes mellitus, who were privately insured, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid members and were continuously enrolled with Humana, Inc. for two years between 2016, and 2020. The outcome of interest is the change in the DCSI score, indicating diabetes progression, during one-year and three-year prediction periods. SAMs 1.1.1 and 1.3.2
