Note:
The primary objectives of the applied research program in Prince William Sound are landslide hazard forecasting and assessment, including the assessment of unstable slopes that may damage infrastructure or produce a landslide capable of triggering a tsunami and to estimate the off-shore and on-shore impacts of a wave generated from slope failure(s), and the implementation of an emergency early warning system. In Denali National Park, high resolution topographic data collected and processed through this agreement will be used to identify previously undocumented landslides, assess slope stability, measure topographic change, and characterize potential impacts to vital infrastructure along the Denali Park Road.
