Note:

This proposal aims to bridge these knowledge gaps by 1) identifying the key factors that impact eddy structures, fluxes, mixing lengths, and turbulence suppression/enhancement due to rotation in the parameter space of hurricane boundary layers (HBLs), 2) characterizing the role of turbulent fluxes in hurricanes evolution, and 3) developing more advanced turbulence models with rotational corrections to improve real hurricane forecasts in numerical weather prediction (NWP) models.
