Note:
We propose the following objectives to investigate the electrochemical systems: 1. Comparison of SFG spectra from crystal domains in the polycrystalline to pure single-crystal electrodes, vibrational Stark shift of adsorbed CO, NO, and CN to access local electric field contributions 2. SHG polarization mapping of the crystal domains in polycrystalline samples and indexing with EBSD 3. Matching peaks in the CV to the SFG images to deduce reactivity at different regions in the sample concerning underlying crystallography and electronic structure. Initial studies are CO oxidation on Pt, then extended to other metal and alloy electrocatalysts. SAMs 1.1.1
