We will develop integral equation based fast numerical schemes for subsurface sensing and communication using electromagnetic waves in underground formation excited by casing strings. We will consider realistic scenarios including multi-layer casing, fractured media, non-layered background formation, etc., we will also study various applications such as pad drilling, offshore exploration, geothermal, and CO2 sequestration.
