Note:
This project aims to produce paleolatitude data for the Walvis Ridge using Expedition 391 cores (with some data from DSDP Legs 72 and 74). A major objective is to test the hypothesis of Late Cretaceous-early Cenozoic TPW. We hypothesize that observed paleolatitude shifts are a combination of TPW and mantle flow. Study results will also be important for studying the evolution of Walvis Ridge, which is a more complex alignment of volcanic edifices than Hawaiian and Louisville counterparts. SAMs 1.1.1
