This proposal describes a concept to leverage the convergent synthesis of multi-block copolymers from telechelic polymer building blocks that can be used to upcycle today’s mixed plastic waste streams through compatibilization but also are amenable to precise and reversible depolymerization under mild conditions to enable the building blocks to be recovered, purified and reconstituted into reusable plastic materials with properties comparable to virgin resins.
