Our specific aims are to: 1) develop and expand our theory to make testable predictions about when and how the brain makes decisions using these rules; 2) relate these predictions to decision rules used by large cohorts of human subjects performing a novel decision task; and 3) use multielectrode recordings and microstimulation to understand how these rules are implemented in the brains of monkeys performing the decision task.
