Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: NONCOMMUTATIVE ANALYSIS WITH APPLICATIONS TO QUANTUM INFORMATION THEORY
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
National Science Foundation
CFDA Link: NSF
47.049
Program Title:
n/a
CFDA Linked: Mathematical and Physical Sciences
Note:
The objective of the project is to study quantum phenomena such as entanglement, coherence and uncertainty principle in quantum information processing from functional analytic approach. This project will employ noncommutative analysis tools from von Neumann algebras, noncommuative Lp-space and operator spaces to prove quantitative estimates in quantum information such as quantum Markov processes and entropy uncertainty relation. This project will also establish new interaction between noncommutative analysis/probablity, noncommutative geometry and noncommutative optimal transport, which complement the known theory of operator algebra.
