Note:
we propose a novel training approach for phishing vulnerability: inoculation. Inoculation may be especially useful for overconfident end-users for whom educational interventions are less effective. Here we draw on an approach that integrates concepts from psychology (i.e., overconfidence, overclaiming, persuasion, inoculation) and computer science (RTAs, NLP, ML) to tailor optimal interventions to combat phishing attacks. Specifically, we will identify different vulnerabilities (under- vs. overconfidence) that exist in end-users and provide two training options (education and inoculation, along with their combination) for dealing with these vulnerabilities. Further, we will examine how those factors interact with different types of RTAs (i.e., tailored using full inoculation, partial inoculation, and generic). SAMs 1.1.1
