Note:

Conduct a literature review to identify how other states conduct prekindergarten progress monitoring to inform the review process; Write a request for information (RFI) to solicit information from Publishers on the criteria within a Matrix developed by the IHE and approved by TEA; Establish approval criteria for prekindergarten assessments, including a rubric for the review of tools with the identified priority requirements; Create an assessment tool review protocol for scoring the prekindergarten tools that meet the initial criteria and move to the next step for further review. Establish an expert panel of 10-12 members in early childhood. Collect and distribute the prekindergarten assessment tools to the expert panel and identify stakeholders for review. Establish rules for the inclusion of prekindergarten assessment tools based on the initial criteria established, i.e., how does TEA decide that an assessment meets the initial criteria, do all criteria have to be met, etc. SAMs 1.1.1 and 1.3.1
