Note:
We hypothesize that eyes with lower OR (compliant sclera) are associated with myopia development in school-aged children. We expect that children at high risk for myopia development will have low OR, while those with low risk of developing myopia will have the highest OR. To test this hypothesis, we aim to recruit children, following informed written consent and assent, deemed at low risk of developing myopia, at high risk of developing myopia and children with diagnosed myopia and evaluate OR differences between the groups. We also aim to investigate the relationship between OR and various ocular characteristics and visual/environmental risk factors to probe at the link between visual cues and OR. SAMs 1.1.1
