Note:
1. We will study the cardiac morphogenesis, especially ventricular trabecular formation and ventricular compaction; 2. We will determine the roles of MCU on cardiac functions in the embryonic hearts by echocardiography as we did in the preliminary studies; 3. We will perform immunostaining or Western blots to examine the MCU associated proteins and the formation of MCU complex that is the functional unit for calcium uptake. 4. We also evaluate the expression, activation and location of CaMKII, which may regulate MCU gene expression in the heart. 5. We will also examine the progenitor differentiation by mRNA deep sequencing, Q-PCR, and immunostaining in the control and Nkx-KO hearts at different ages. SAMs 1.1.1
