Note:
Here we propose a new approach to the design and fabrication of soft wearable haptic devices that will be appropriate for social touch displays. Rather than rely on sti↵ frames to ensure load transmission, we will control deformation and load profiles by combining soft pneumatic actuators with knit textiles of varying sti↵ness. The variation will be achieved by carefully controlling the yarn and stitch placement within the textile. SAMs 1.1.1.
