Note:
Subject to future changes, Student will investigate techniques to improve the image quality and improve the accuracy of MRI for cancer application. One particular technique that Student will investigate is the MR navigators for motion compensation. Compared to other techniques, MR navigators provide capability of measuring the displacement of an internal organ (e.g., liver diaphragm) and using such information, it is possible to perform motion correction for a variety of MRI applications. It is expected that successful development and validation of such a technique will greatly enhance the MRI’s ability to help physician’s diagnose cancer and monitor its treatment. 1.1.1 and 1.3.2
