Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: R16: Characterization of novel pyrazole compounds with potent anti-cancer activity.
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
NIH - NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE
Program Title: #N/A
Note:
We recently discovered two similar anti-cancer compounds with potent toxic activity against many types of human cancer cells. In this proposal, we will perform the requisite experiments to determine how the compounds cause death and if they are able to kill human cancers growing in mice. We expect that in the near future, the identified anti-cancer drugs will result in therapeutic agents that can be used alone or in combination with other FDA approved drugs for the treatment of human cancer and help reduce cancer health disparities.
