Note:
The proposed work will make significant advances to our knowledge of turbulent flow that control sediment transport and the morphodynamic evolution of rivers, using state of the art, hybrid physics-based (PB) and Machine learning (ML) models validated using field observations of large scale rivers, laboratory experiments, and data collected with autonomous (aerial and aquatic) systems.. My goal is to develop a novel methodological framework, to couple a flow/sediment transport solver with a movable bed module aided by machine learning algorithms, applied to the field of fluvial geomorphology.
