We propose a novel electrochemical detection method for perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) based on electrodeposited gold nanoparticles in glassy carbon surfaces that can be used as electrodes to sense and detect low concentrations of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Using square wave adsorption stripping voltammetry (SWCSV) methods, we propose to (1) validate our electrochemical data using available standards and established analytical techniques such as LC-MS/MS; (2) study the mechanism of action; (3) improve detection; and (4) build a sensor reactor using these electrochemical principles
