The present project represents an evaluation of the El Paso Pretrial Risk Assessment Instrument - Revised (EPPTRA). Specifically, we will assess the utility of the tool in predicting re-offense and failure to appear (FTA). Changes in pre-trial procedures and court procedures due to the COVID-19 pandemic have brought to light additional research questions pertaining to this tool that are of prominent concern with County personnel. As such, this project will examine the utility of the tool before and during the pandemic.
