Note:
The primary objective of this project is to (1) build on work done in FY22 regarding developing inkjet printing copper nanoparticle inks and (2) develop an inkjet printable MXene ink. Both objectives will be worked simultaneously. Copper (Cu) nanoparticle ink will be utilized for this study because of its high conductivity and relatively low cost. In FY22, Prof. Roberts and team developed printing recipes for COTS Cu nanoparticle inks using the newer Samba G3L heads on the Fujifilm Dimatix. We will build upon that expertise by examining how post-processing steps impact printed copper features like conductivity. Additionally, we will explore the use of additives for oxidation prevention. Finally, we will continue to analyze possible acceptance testing methodologies for COTS Cu nanoparticle inks including testing like impedance spectroscopy and RF reflectometry.
