Note:

This project aims to contribute to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas (CACTX) call to eradicate child sexual abuse (CSA). To do so, this proposal will address four main domains of CSA and multidisciplinary team (MDT) response to CSA and particularly children who exhibit problematic sexual behavior (PSB): 1) policies and laws, 2) knowledge and perceptions, 3) current approaches and methods, and 4) recommendations. Addressing these four domains using a mixed-methods research design will provide a holistic examination of children exhibiting (PSB) and their resulting interactions with the related MDTs to include the justice system, child advocacy centers, DFPS, and medical personnel. This research, if funded, will use content analyses, interviews, focus groups, and surveys to obtain quantitative and qualitative data on MDT and state responses to PSB. Doing so will allow the researcher, and CACTX, to produce meaningful recommendations for change in the state of Texas.
