This project will focus on utilizing x-ray scattering techniques to investigate morphology-property relationships in materials of interest to KCNSC. FY23 will consist of morphological investigations into polymeric materials in alignment with the following Grand Challenges: In-Situ Monitoring, and Thermal Processing Effects. Materials to be evaluated include, but are not limited to, high performance engineering thermoplastics, AM thermoplastics, and recycled AM feedstock material. This work will aim to determine and develop SAXS/WAXS methods to probe critical material phenomena related to manufacturing processes and material selection criteria.
