Note:

The goal of the project is to study the genetic mechanisms underlying the development of resistance to clothianidin in Anopheles gambiae, the main vector of malaria parasites in Sub-Saharan Africa. The project is funded by an NIH R01 grant awarded to myself, Dr Colince Kamdem in 2020 when I was a research fellow at Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) in Cameroon. Following my move to UTEP in November 2022, NIH hasapproved that the grant be transferred to another qualified PI (Dr. Basile Kamgang) at CRID, while I remain collaborator. My laboratory at UTEP willbe conducting sequencing and genetic analysis and will receive 20% of yearly budget through a subaward agreement between CRID and UTEP.
