Note:

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has fully developed several web applications for the El Paso Metropolitan Organization (MPO) including the Multimodal Web Tool (MWT) for El Paso MPO deployed in 2021 (v.1.0.1), shown in Figure 1. The MWT has been developed to accomplish the following objectives: (1) Provide to the general public the National Performance Measures (PM1, PM2, PM3) and (2) provide to the general public the 25 regional performance measures. The Multimodal Web Tool is currently serving its development purpose and has been incorporated to standard business operations and activities by the MPO personnel. Though this web tool is currently active and functional, it is critical that the web tool is constantly updated to update the national and regional performance measures on a year-to-year basis. Databases utilized for the analysis of performance measures are publicly released by federal, state, regional and local agencies at different dates throughout the year. Consequently, performance measures should be analyzed by MPO staff as soon as the databases are made available to the public to prepare and update the shapefiles needed to update the Multimodal Web Tool. These shapefiles should be uploaded to the server hosting the MWT replacing previous shapefiles to update the information provided by the MWT along with the MPO adopted performance targets required by the national performance measures. Through Task Order No. 10, the El Paso MPO tasks the Center for Transportation Infrastructure Systems (CTIS) at UTEP to provide technical support in terms of web application modifications and further development for ease of public engagement and access to information, browser functionality maintenance, debugging and patching, and to upload the latest databases in the form of shapefiles to amend maps and update performance measures and performance targets at the direction of the MPO personnel.
