Note:

TMAC-UTEP will leverage its existing partnerships with the NM Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), New Mexico State University/Engineering New Mexico Resource Network (ENMRN) and NMED's P2 Program to organize and deliver E3 events in southern New Mexico and west Texas. TMAC-UTEP along with NM MEP and New Mexico State University/ENMRN will collaborate on E3 outreach and training events at two (2) manufacturing facilities in the Paso del Norte region of southern New Mexico and two (2) manufacturing facilities in the Paso del Norte region of west Texas. UTEP will deliver E3 outreach and training events at four (4) manufacturing facilities (two (2) each year) in the Paso del Norte region of southern New Mexico or Paso del Norte region of west Texas. UTEP will prepare one (1) success story each year and will provide updated reporting on the following outputs and outcomes list below. TMAC-UTEP and ENMRN will identify, promote and present these E3 projects at local conferences and appropriate workshops in order to promote the benefits of E3, pollution prevention and energy efficiency for manufacturers in Texas and beyond. Such presentations on manufacturing projects will be conducted in collaboration with the NM MEP, TMAC, NMED, the EPA El Paso Border Office and the Border 2020 Program. The key tasks that will be conducted under the proposal are summarized below: 1. Lean Engineering 101 Workshop 2. Selected product process - Value stream mapping 3. Identify Lean wastes in the process 4. Suggest improvements and estimated impacts including: -Cost savings -Water reductions -Hazardous wastes reductions -Electrical reductions
