Note:
The Rubin Center's founding mission was aimed at bringing art, artists and ideas from other places to our geographically isolated borderland. We place an additional focus on our location as evidenced through cross-border collaborations and exhibits that deal with the socio-political realities of the border. As evidenced through our exhibitions and programming, it continues to remain a pivotal point in the curatorial vision. All of our exhibitions are complemented by vibrant, interdisciplinary programming for diverse audiences. Notable programs included the MINE Symposium which hosted exhibiting artists from Duality of Presence who taught studio workshops and hosted artist lectures; and the month-long artist residency with Hankey and Johnson at our local senior centers hosting free bilingual theater workshops that culminated in the Salidas y Entradas exhibition which was attended by 300+ participating seniors. Additional highlights can be seen in our attached powerpoint.
