Note:
This dissertation is a borderlands environmental and cultural history of Larrea tridentata, the dominant desert shrub in the hot North American deserts which spread from San Luis Potosi, MX to southern Nevada and from Baja California to west Texas. The temporal scope of the project is broad and stretches from prehistory to the recent past, as Larrea tridentata is a long-lived plant that can clone itself and live for thousands of years.
